Ground Source Energy: Empowered by the RHI
Thursday 10 July 2014
The Building Centre, 26 Store Street, London WC1E 7BT

Key note speaker Andy Davey, Department for Energy & Climate Change, joined us at Empowered by the RHI, where we investigated the application of ground source technology in a number of ways to provide heating and cooling to buildings.

The domestic RHI launched on 9 April 2014. Commercial RHI tariffs for GSHPs have just been doubled on 28 May 2014 and this proven lowest running cost, lowest carbon renewable heating technology offers the huge potential to help meet the UK's carbon emission reduction targets.

Andy Davey of DECC came to listen as well as to speak: he was concerned to find if there were barriers to the take-up of ground source energy and if DECC or Ofgem could do more to encourage the adoption of ground source energy which was way behind what DECC had envisaged. This led to a lively exchange of views and a number of proposals from the GSHPA.

If you missed the event you can see copies of the slide presentations by clicking on the titles below - although these do not give the full flavour of the conference or allow you to benefit from the networking opportunites these successful conferences permit.
