Website Cookies and Privacy

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file containing information that can be remembered by a web browser between pages. When an individual uses a web browser to access the internet their browser can create cookies which are stored on the user’s computer. Cookies are not programs and therefore cannot contain viruses or other malicious software. They are purely a string of text and numbers.

The law states that cookies can be stored on your machine if they are essential to the operation of a website but that for all other purposes your permission is needed to store cookies.

This website does use some non-essential cookies. We do not identify users but we use cookies to gain knowledge about how the site is used so that we can keep improving it for our users.

Like many other websites we use Google Analytics to help us analyse how visitors use the site. It counts the number of visitors and tells us which pages are being seen and how often.

Google Analytics is used by many websites to record information about visits to websites. Google set five different cookies with expiry dates ranging from one day to two years. These cookies are used mainly to differentiate between first time visitors to a website and repeat visitors. They do not contain any personally identifiable information. You can find out more about how Google use cookies at https://www.google.co.uk/policies/privacy/

Depending on which web browser you use it is possible to control how cookies are used, or to delete existing cookies from your computer. You can find instructions on how to control the use of cookies, or delete cookies from your computer at https://www.aboutcookies.org

By continuing to use this website we assume your agreement with our use of cookies in this way.
