Heat Pump Conference 2018
Thursday 20 September 2018
National Motorcycle Museum, Solihull B92 0EJ

The day began at 10am with presentations on a proposal for the GSHPA to merge with the Heat Pump Association to create a single powerful voice for the heat pump industry in the UK. Speakers included Bean Beanland, Graham Wright from the HPA Council and Russel Beattie from FETA.

GSHPA's AGM took place following the presentations on a proposed merger with the Heat Pump Association by both the Council of the GSHPA and the Council of the HPA and a debate followed by a vote to determine members' appetite for the Council to progress planning negotiations with the HPA to form the new Heat Pump Federation. Following a show of hands in which members voted in favour of pursuing talks with FETA and the HPA, the Council will work to compile detailed proposals after the AGM. It is envisaged that a vote on the proposals will take place in November. This schedule is designed to give members the fullest opportunity to learn more about the pros and cons of the proposal prior to making a decision.

All delegates had the opportunity for networking, meeting the presenters and talking to exhibitors over a hot buffet lunch.

The influencers in the heat pump sector including Dr Oliver Quast from BEIS, Luke Bailey from OFGEM, Chris Roberts from MCS and a representative from the Environment Agency presented after lunch and were available throughout the afternoon to give delegates the opportunity to raise issues affecting their own businesses and projects. Further workshops and advice clinics were held following the presentations.
